Encore! Adult Acting Class

INTRODUCING

A hands-on acting workshop for all experience levels.

Whether you're new to acting or have years of experience, Encore! offers a chance to build your skills and dig deeper into the craft. Through monologue work, scene study and individual coaching, students will explore character, relationships and what it takes to bring a scene to life. We'll work on making strong choices, active listening and responding in the moment, taking direction and preparing for auditions. Students will have time to work on material, receive feedback and learn from one another in a supportive setting. Come ready to challenge yourself, try new things and grow as an actor!

Meet our adult acting instructor

Kelsey Layton

Kelsey Layton has been performing for over 30 years, from singing with her family’s band to acting in plays and musicals. She holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and Stonestreet Studios in New York City. At Lee Strasberg, she studied with respected acting teachers Geoffrey Horne, Susan Grace Cohen, Hope Arthur and Robert Ellermann. A longtime performer at the Bastrop Opera House, Kelsey has appeared in numerous productions. She has also directed and assistant directed several BOH shows, giving her experience on both sides of the rehearsal room. Kelsey brings her love of the craft and years of hands-on experience to help actors build confidence and make stronger, more thoughtful acting choices.
